Just a few of my houseplants
Now I get to share those extras with you again! I'll do the same type of contest I did last year, and choose two random winners at the end. Each winner will receive a box packed full of plants.
I have a large variety of common houseplants, as well as a variety of succulents and tropical plants in my collection. Each prize will include cuttings and divisions from a variety of these plants. I will choose the plants that I send, but I will include plants that you want if I have them.
A couple more in my houseplant collection
I'll give you two weeks to enter the contest (deadline is Friday, September 7th). Then I will pick two names randomly (via random.org) from all the people who entered the contest. You can enter your name in the drawing more than once, and there are several ways you can enter to win.
A few more of my houseplants
Here are all the ways you can enter to win (each one counts as one entry into the drawing, and none of them are mandatory)...
- Leave a comment here and tell me your favorite houseplant (or type of houseplant), or your wishlist.
- Write a blog post about your favorite houseplant, or something houseplant related, and post the link here in the comments. (make sure to include a link back to this blog post on your blog post mentioning my contest)
- Become a new follower of my blog
- Like me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/GetBusyGardening)
- Start following me on Twitter (GetBusyGardenin - yes without the last 'g')
- Start following me on Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/aschune/)
- Start following me on Google+ (getbusygardening@gmail.com)
- Share this contest on FB, retweet... ect.
If you live outside of the Continental US, you can't win the plants (unfortunately).
I can't wait to see your lists of favorite plants, it's so much fun to read about everyone elses collections! So tell your friends, tell your family, tell you neighbors! And enter the contest now...

I was so excited to see this post as I am on a strict houseplant budget! I had to stop buying a houseplant every time I saw a "new" one or one that looked almost dead so I could save it!! I love them though, so much, all kinds. My absolute favorite is asparagus fern and all succulents come in second! I started following you on pinterest and I will add you to my google+. I am going to read more if your blog now! It's nice to know I am not alone in my houseplant addiction :) Thank you!!

I have been growing plants since as far back as I can remember. I have spiders in all varieties and Jade plants christmas cactus and a rubber tree hat I thought was going to die.. it didn't grow for like 2 years so I put it outside for the summer.. The thing is so big now when I bring it in for the winter it takes up my whole living room.. My name is Tina Ham.. garagedweller88@yahoo.com.. thanks for all the plants in advance...lol..I love House plants.....
ReplyDeleteHope to win this year. My favorites are aloe, cactus, wandering Jew, china doll, ivy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite indoor plants are African violets but they don't always like me! I do have a philodendrum that is most forgiving!
ReplyDeleteI've been following you on facebook for some time now. I just went over to pinterest and pinned you to my gardening category. I love house plants. During summer, I have them all over the deck and the front porch and in winter, my kitchen looks like a jungle when I bring them all inside. My husband and I are going to put in a window seat (without cushions) all across our back kitchen wall under the windows. That way I have some place to display all of my plants. I have all kinds...I'm not picky when it comes to plants. I have big ones, little ones, vining plants...I even have one in a bottle that we found in the woods with the plant growing in dirt in the bottle. Sort of like a ship in a bottle...only a plant in a bottle. :) I'm heading back to facebook right now to share your post with all my pals. Loretta mouse19572002@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteAloe and African Violets are my fav. Already liked on FB, Shared on FB, following on Pinterest, google and Blogger.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite houseplant? I'd have to say any orchid really. A houseplant I really want? An orchid. I purchased a vanilla orchid on ebay last year that I quickly killed... I'm still not sure what I did wrong.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoy and used to have a large number of houseplants, but then my girlfriend gave me a cat who destroyed a bunch of them! So, I'd have to say any cat-friendly (as in not poisonous or overly tasty) houseplant would be great. Some colorful varieties would be nice, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, and a "catnip" mint would also be awesome.. I had some growing outside this year, but apparently it got completely eaten! I still have some cat grass growing outside, which the cat enjoys on the rare occasion I let him out there :)
Cheers,
Erik
I "like" you on facebook and I love my easy pothos.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Facebook & twitter. I am confined to my house due to a bad heart & lung issues, I consider my plants my "therapy". I lost all my plants 2 winters ago when we had a massive snowstorm with temps 20 below 0. We had to stay with family but the only thing I could do for my 100 babies was group them in the bathroom & bathtub wrapped in newspaper & pray, but it was just too cold too long.. :'( ....so I have tried to gather starts from friends, even restaurants that have a plant allow me to take a snip...lol my son loves me... I even got a Moses in a boat from the local courthouse that was neglected, she just told me take it when I mentioned it, you should see that little beauty now. Would appreciate any consideration. :). Keep smiling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence I stumbled upon this post just in time. Today I thought I would try my hand at house plants again and purchased another Pothos {ie.. the only houseplant I haven't fully killed], and a Peace Lily. When my daughter was young I could keep plants no problem. Add a son and a dog and a guinea pig and paranoia and that is my reason for not having many if any house plants. A few of my favorites and on my wish list are: Wandering Jew, Aloe, christmas cactus, and anything that is good for cleaning the air (asthma).
ReplyDeletebtw, I follow you on facebook, added you to my blog roll, shared this on twitter, and blogged about it http://gardenfuss.blogspot.com/2012/08/got-to-have-green.html
My love for houseplants started when my grandmother gave me a little piece of wandering Jew when I was 9, I'm 54 now...lol. she told me to take it home & put it in a little glass of water, she created a monster...lol. I love to get little starts from friends, restaurants, businesses....each one then has a story & personality. That's what broke my heart when I lost my plants to the snowstorm, I'll never be able to replace them. But I'm starting a whole new story!! Enjoy your posts & everyone's stories.. :)
ReplyDeleteAll of your houseplants are beautiful!
