Yesterday was so sunny here in Western NY. My containers are starting to shed their winter snow blankets too! This week's new additions was 9 bringing the total count to 67. I have 3 indoor flats planted and they sprouted rather quickly...perhaps that is a good gardening omen for this year?
ReplyDeleteHi Kristie! Wow sunny and melting snow, that sounds so great. It's been mostly gloomy and snowy for us this week. Yuck! Hopefully our snow will be melting soon too. Yeah, nine more containers!! I will add that to the count, and of course enter your name again in the next drawing. I hope the fast sprouting flats means a good gardening omen for your garden this year! I'm going to do a few flats inside too but I'm making myself wait a few more weeks. It's hard to wait though, I'm dying to see some sprouts. :-)

From your winter sowing experience, when have you seen your first sprouts? Spring is slowly marching our way and I want to be prepared! (My container county jumped up a smidge...now I am at 81!)
ReplyDeleteHi Kirstie,
ReplyDelete81 containers, WOW! Good for you. Funny that you asked me about when to expect sprouts, and now you have some! :-) I looked back at my winter sowing status reports from last year, and my first sprouts were on March 18th! Oh boy, I better keep an eye on my containers too. The cold weather/frost hardy ones will start to sprout first. I remember checking my containers one morning last spring and there was ice on the inside of the lids with the sprouts growing happily in the containers...amazing!
